The call to make disciples
It’s easy to forget that it takes finances to make disciples. Few people get excited about covering the cost of electricity bills, staff wages or office supplies. But these things are a means to an end, the end being the urgent work of making and maturing disciples. It is our bold prayer and confident expectation that God will continue to use the ministry of The Lakes to call men, women and children to himself and to grow his people in their love and knowledge of him. This is the vision we invite our members to give to.
Areas of giving at The Lakes
General Ministry
General Ministry giving supports the work we do to reach people with the gospel and then to grow them as God’s people here on the Central Coast. It provides for our staff team and all the day to day expenses of church life.
Our staff members organise and teach at our Sunday gatherings, run a variety courses, train Growth Group leaders, oversee and develop programs for SRE in our local schools, make pastoral visits, organise events, conduct weddings and funerals and much more.
MTS
The Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) has been a foundation piece of The Lakes’ ministry from the beginning. Trainees work alongside the ministry team who mentor and train them. We are deeply committed to raising the next generation of church leaders and missionaries so that the Great Commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 will carry on into the future.
Ministry Centre
We have invested in our ministry centre to provide a base to reach the children, youth and adults of the Central Coast with the good news of Jesus. It has been a strategic and necessary priority in recent years to relocate our ministries onto our land at Tuggerah Business Park to enable us to grow our church and preach the word of God with freedom. This has meant incurring a large debt which we are eager to pay off in order to free up money to invest in growing our ministries.
Missions
The Lakes has the privilege of partnering with a number of missions and church planting initiatives locally, nationally and globally.

Cash or cheque
Place cash or cheques in the offering boxes at the exits of the main hall on Sundays.
All giving received in this way goes to General Ministry expenses unless specified otherwise. To give to MTS, the Ministry Centre or Missions, simply place your offering in an envelope labelled with the ministry of your choice.
