CMS – Nothern Territory
Matt and Lisa have been supporting Christians and church leaders in Gunbalanya (Kunbarlanja) since the publication of the Kunwinjku language New Testament in 2018. They are learning Kunwinjku and sharing God’s word with believers. We’re excited to be supporting them given that a number of people at The Lakes have a historical connection to the people of Gunbalanya.

S & D are preparing to serve the Lord in gospel-poor Central Asia with CMS from January 2025 onwards. After an initial period of language and culture learning, they’re hoping to use business to gain access to Central Asia, build meaningful relationships, and to be part of sharing Jesus among a gospel-poor people group.

J & M
Pioneers – Central Asia
In a Muslim majority country, J & M and their three children are building relationships and partnerships to bring the gospel to people in unreached communities.
Village Church Bulli
Village Church was started to tell people about Jesus in the Northern Suburbs of Wollongong. They meet every Sunday at 4pm at PCYC Bulli. Praise God for how he has been at work in this church plant.
Ministry Training Strategy (MTS)
MTS has been a foundation piece of The Lakes’ ministry from the beginning. Trainees work alongside the ministry team who mentor and train them. Its focus is on raising the next generation of church leaders and missionaries.
Rhys Ewing
AFES worker with NCS:Coast
Rhys Ewing works with the students of NCS:Coast, a Christian student group on the Central Coast campuses of the University of Newcastle. As a worker with AFES (The Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students), Rhys proclaims the good news of Jesus at university and joins with students to build a group that will evangelise, encourage, train, and send.

School Scripture (SRE)
It is our privilege to be an approved provider of SRE (Special Religious Education) in many of our local public primary and high schools, under the guidelines set by the NSW Department of Education and with the cooperation of our local school principals. In partnership with other local churches we belong to the Tuggerah Lakes High School SRE Board and our local Primary SRE Board.

The Lakes partners with Compassion’s Child Sponsorship Program to make an impact on children living in poverty in Indonesia. Key to Compassion’s vision is the hope of Jesus, the care of a local church and the encouragement of loving sponsors. Compassion provides basic needs like clean water and nourishing food and gives children the chance to hear and respond to the gospel message—some for the very first time.
