Deep Dive

The Hardening of Pharaoh’s Heart

How does God’s rule over all things fit with human decisions and responsibility?

If God is truly in control of everything, do our decisions actually matter? If our choices carry real weight, how is God sovereign? Join us as we explore one of the faith’s biggest questions with clear teaching and good discussion.

“For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.”

— Romans 9:17–18
